We install all types of electrical items in campervans, from additional sockets to inverters and consumer units. We can do everything from first fixes, such as installing ceiling lights and solar panels, to second fixes, such as installing and setting up major appliances.
Our services are billed at £45 per hour and include some materials, such as inline fuses up to 30a and cable up to 6mm2. Large fuses and fuse boards, breakers, and relays are chargeable, as are heavy gauge cables greater than 6mm2.
The following are estimates for the time it takes to complete various electrical installation tasks. However, these times are just estimates and may vary depending on the specific van and the equipment being installed. A true estimate can only be given after we have seen the van in person.
- Battery install: 1-2 hours
- Solar install: 4-6 hours
- Roof lights: 2-4 hours
- Extra sockets: 1-2 hours
- Engine charging (B2B DC/DC converter or split relay): 2-4 hours
A full installation of a large van with a good equipment spec is around 20-40 hours from first fix to finished. A small/medium van like a transporter or traffic is around 10-25 hours depending on equipment.
